I watched Windows 10 Performance Monitor while accepting this API in Skype and the difference is little to none. Memory 0.7 MB, CPU 0%, with Skype running idle.
  DenisSeattle
I believe it is Realtek, but have not figured out why Skype puts up a message about it. None of my AV or Malware scans complain about it.

  Mohan
This process was starting to take up 30% of CPU, so I forcefully ended it and it came back at 0%. Seems buggy, but also seems needed for some audio performance, and seems manageable.

essential for realtek audio
  Helpcenter
When it's running it takes up about 17% of the CPU and increases the CPU temp (Intel Core i7-4810MQ) from about 55-57 degrees to 75-77 degrees. When terminated, nothing bad happens to audio capabilities and the CPU runs cool again.
